Naan Khatai

Naan Khatai (Naan Khat-aa-ee) is a traditional Indian shortbread cookie which originated in the port city of Surat in India and can be traced back to the 17th century. It is a light, yet sweet biscuit that is traditionally made with clarified butter or “ghee”, semolina, eggs, flour, sugar and baking powder. The individual ingredients may be simple enough but combining them creates a delicious biscuit.
